Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) is a closed-cell foam plastic that has been used for years in the packaging and insulation industries. Over the last few years, EPS has been used for a variety of new applications. EPS Foam is used to make several items ranging from packaging and displays, to architectural finishing details and movie props. EPS is environmentally-safe, inert, non-toxic, and has a Class “A” flame spread rating.
EPS has several advantages over conventional materials:
Standard EPS foam only weighs one pound per cubic foot. This makes it easier to transport and to use on the job site
EPS does not rot or warp like wood. It stands up to time and weather.
EPS can be fashioned in to almost any shape imaginable. The design flexibility is practically unlimited.
